Full-Time 80 hrs ppp

Monday 7:30-5:00, Tues-Thurs 7:45-5:00, Friday 7:45-12:00

Assists providers with patient care, testing, and treatment including visual fields, tonometry, keratometry, potential acuity meter, and refractometry orbscans. Administers ophthalmic drops and ointments as ordered. Maintains stock of medications, instruments, equipment and contact lenses. Assists physicians as needed. Other duties as assigned by clinic manager. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in using various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and writing reports. Knowledge of office procedures. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the general public. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills

High School graduation or GED is required. One-year experience in Ophthalmic/ Optometric practice or one year clinical experience.
