Registered Nurse - Circulator - Utah Valley Outpatient Surgical Center

An exciting opportunity exists for an OR nurse at the Utah Valley Surgical Center on the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center campus in Provo, Utah.  Our surgery center is brand new, having opened in November 2008.  The nurse will work as a vital member of the team, comprised of a surgical technologist, surgeon and an anesthesiologist, who together care for the patient undergoing a surgical procedure.  Duties include interviewing the patient, assisting with the anesthetic induction, positioning, prepping, medications, technical equipment and attending to the needs of the scrubbed members of the team throughout the case. The Utah Valley Surgical Center is loaded with the latest high-tech equipment and is dedicated to quality patient care in a welcoming and healing environment.  We have six Operating Room suites, specializing in ambulatory surgery (orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, GYN, urology, podiatry, & plastics).

Intermountain Healthcare's new Utah Valley Surgical Center is on the 4^th floor of the Utah Valley Outpatient Center 1157 North 300 West in the heart of Provo, Utah serving Utah County and surrounding counties. 

The Registered Nurse (RN)-Same Day Surgery is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients when caring for the patient in the operative setting. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.  The RN independently coordinates the perioperative nursing care of the surgical patient and ensures appropriate and safe nursing care in the perioperative environment and when receiving patients from or transferring to other nursing departments.

The 2009 Urban South Region policy requires all RN grads to be hired through and successfully complete one of our RN Grad Residency Programs before being hired onto a unit, or have one year of previous RN experience.
