Perform special projects that develop and/or enhance department services, professional practice, educational programs, and personal training/knowledge; in accordance with ASHP Residency Program Guidelines. Support department staffing as needed. Access to all Patient Health Information related to job function. Uses critical thinking skills and exercises independent decision-making as needed for the provision of safe and rational medication therapy.
Requirements for Acceptance
The residency begins on July 1 of each year and lasts 12 months. (Starting date negotiable.) Requirements for acceptance into Desert Regional Medical Center's Residency Program include:
Applicant must be a recent graduate from an accredited school or college of pharmacy.
The applicant must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
The applicant must have a pending California licensure by the July 1st beginning of residency.
Residents must take the California Pharmacy Board Exams (NAPLEX, CJPE) and achieve successful licensure by September 1st of the residency year.
