Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates all aspects of perfomance improvement/quality management function, to include ongoing ad hoc clinical and non clinical monitoring and evaluation activities, interdisciplinary committee/CQI team facilitation/support, ongoing quality indicator surveillance and quality topic variance review. Develops/analyzes statistical quality studies, oversees/reports results of periodic performance data to desiginated internal and external groups/agencies, assists in accreditation compliance readiness activities, and formulates clinical and non clinical improvement action plans as warranted for a variety of quality topics/clinical hospital functions. Manages and supports multiple quality projects simultaneously and performs other related duties as assigned.

...-- Works collaboratively with the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics Chief of Service to coordinate and implement ongoing medical staff peer review processes thru chart reviews and physician profiling activities.
...-- Coordinates FPPE & OPPE and all other physician profiling activities for the Department for presentation to the physician leadership
...-- Serves as a Departmental resource of patient safety standards and national patient safety initiatives and outcome measures (ACOG, IHI, CMS Core Measures, UHC and other Perinatal measures)
...-- Supports and collaborates with Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics Chief of Service and other physician leadership as directed for presentation of outcome data at Departmental meetings for the purpose of quality improvement
...-- Compiles, analyzes and evaluates data using statistical methods, benchmark data and other comparative measures
...-- Provides recommendations for problem resolution and appropriate follow up of quality related issues, problems and concerns

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree in a clinical discipline, knowledge of statistics, healthcare QM/PI concepts, theory & application. Must be licensed as an RN in the state of Georgia. CPHQ preferred. Must have knowledge of team/committee facilitation, project management, healthcare regulatory/accreditation QM/PI standards and reporting requirements, and hospital committee functions. Must have experience using computer software packages to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and hospital performance measurement comparative database systems (Core Measures, Quality Indicators preferred).

Qualifications preferred:
...-- RN with 3-5 years experience in Perinatal nursing
...-- Previous healthcare quality management or process improvement experience
...-- Ability to perform effectively in a culturally diverse work environment

Additional Job Details This position will support new faculty member Peter Heyl, MD, Maternal-Fetal Medicine in his role as Chief of Service, Emory University Hospital Midtown, as well as support the credentialing, peer review and quality improvement needs of the entire Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics to include all faculty and community providers. The position will work closely with all departmental physician leadership positions in support of quality improvement initiatives throughout all subspecialties of the department.
