JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
GRANT FUNDED TEMPORARY POSITION - MINIMUM 1 YEAR COMMITMENT
Responsible for providing direct patient care at the Flint Hills Community Clinic. Under the auspices of the Medical Director, the NP provides care for patients in the outpatient care setting. The NP will also assist in triaging phone calls during hours worked and provide guidance to the Clinical Coordinator regarding patient care. This position is a grant-funded position for 10 hours per week and funding will last for one year. The clinic may continue to fund this position once the initial grant has expired; however it is not guaranteed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Provides continuity of care in the outpatient setting in collaboration with volunteer providers and staff.
* Promotes and supports all Team Mercy standards of quality customer service.
* Promotes continuous quality improvement in operations and in job performance.
* Provides medical care in an outpatient setting under the supervision of the medical director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Nurse Practitioner Master's Level prepared in family practice. Current Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five years prior clinical experience with some ambulatory care experience desirable. Minimum of two years prior supervisory or health care management preferred. Case management or public health experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Word processing and data entry skills required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May have to do occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Must have manual dexterity to be able to type and write.
