Full-time, 72 hours per pay period

The Clinical Care Coordinator facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team. The nurse must be competent in the Registered Nurse skills of the unit/department. The nurse coordinates the Pediatric and PICU nursing activities while adhering to hospital, and unit philosophy, goals and standards of care. Responsible for maintaining staffing/budget within departmental guidelines. The nurse utilizes independent and interdependent nursing judgment when integrating health care. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients according to department scope of service.

The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Coordinator role must be knowledgeable in the area of pediatrics and its related specialty areas. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of this client population.

The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.

When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills

Graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred. Certified in PALS and ENPC. Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.
