The ER Admissions responsibilities of this position include the registration of patients in a timely and efficient manner. Must obtain as much information as possible during the registration process. Using effective customer service skills, answers patient's and family members' questions. Demonstrates concern and empathy to patients and their family members. Exhibits a courteous and professional manner at all times. The Patient Flow responsibilities of this position include coordinating and expediting the flow of patients through the admissions process determining patient disposition and direction while exhibiting excellent customer service skills.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent with previous hospital experience and excellent communication skills
Desired: Experience/training in medical terminology and minimum one year of previous hospital admitting/registration experience
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm, tactful and timely manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while giving excellent customer service
- Ability to maintain all patient information with a maximum of confidentiality
- Accurate typing skills and data entry skills
