The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the oversight of the overall operations of the Surgical Services Department (Pre-Admitting; Pre-operative unit; OR; and PACU). He/she ensures that each nursing unit provides optimal patient care services; assures each unit meets all legal, regulatory, accreditation and certification requirements; and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the organization. Assists in formulating budgets and adhering to established budgetary standards and directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of supplies; participates in the department's planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education and human resources activities. Participates and ensures performance improvement activities as initiated. Monitors overall staff performance. Consults with staff, physicians and CNO to ensure issues are addressed, policies and procedures are interpreted to ensure quality patient care.
-Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and current FL RN Licensure.
-Bachelors Degree required or equivalent years of work experience, Masters Degree preferred.
-Current BLS, ACLS & PALS Certification at time of hire.
-5 years of previous management/ supervisory experience in an acute care setting required.
