Responsibilities:
- 1. Member of the Profession: Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice. Supervises and is accountable for the continuum of nursing care, including, but not limited to RN, LPN and CNA practice. Responsible for Performance Improvement activities and reports for his/her assigned areas. 2. Provider: Using identified standards of practice based on the nursing process, helps the patient/resident/family/consumer to identify and to meet basic health needs in a wide variety of settings. Coordinates care of the patient/resident/family/consumer using an interdisciplinary holistic approach.- 3. Advocate: Promotes a climate in which patients/residents/families/consumers may act in their own interest and intervenes when patients/residents/families/consumers are unable to act in their own interest.- 4. Manager: Works to achieve desired outcomes through coordination of patient/resident/family/consumer care with the effective use of personnel, equipment, supplies and work systems. Assists with prioritizing equipment needs, writing and revising policies and procedures and redesigning workflow and documentation to assure quality care is provided. Has the authority and responsibility to supervise and coach nursing staff.- 5. Educator: Using the nursing process provides patient/resident/family/consumer education using a wide range of teaching methods to promote health in a variety of settings. Responsible to educate and mentor staff, assuring competence in their assigned areas. - 6. Leadership: Active part of the Nursing leadership and will work towards the high standards of professional level leadership in nursing and set the role model for other staff. They will work closely with the CNO to look at Nursing as a whole and be a highly participative part of a high performance leadership team. Will focus on positive pro-active communication and team building. - 7. Budget responsibilities for the department will be required: Will follow the established budgetary process and work with management to address the needs of the department. They will function in a cost efficient and effective manner which represents excellence in patient care. The reporting and administrative connections with the budgetary process will be in the job responsibilities of the incumbent in the position.

Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: Graduate of an approved school of nursing required. - Community Hospital: Two years of acute care experience, preferably in the selected area of responsibility.- Goshen Care Center: Two years experience in a long-term care setting. - Other qualifications/certificate/license: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wyoming. - Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.- Additional credentials/certifications may be required for specialty areas ie:(ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, AWHONN, STABLE) YAHOOSMART
