Purpose of Job: The Finance Manager is a member of the UnitedHealth Pharmaceutical Solutions Finance and Analytics Team and reports to the Finance Director of Pricing. This position is responsible for supporting the pricing and risk related to the pharmacy product offering within UnitedHealth Group. This includes developing pricing guidance, analytical tools, financial performance reporting, and setting new pricing strategies.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop methodologies to quantify financial performance, opportunities, and risks associated with pharmacy management products including Drug Rebates, Pharmacy Network, Benefit Design and Clinical Programs to ensure accurate pricing.
- Recommend and develop new pricing strategies that underwriting can utilize to maintain profitability and remain competitive.
- Model and recommend pricing trends that will be used to set overall pricing guidelines.
- Lead Annual ASO Pharmacy/Underwriting summits.
- Develop and maintain relationship with key underwriting, sales and actuarial contacts to effectively communicate pricing trends and pricing strategies.
- Work with internal pharmacy product owners to understand ongoing performance of and key initiatives within various product areas.
- Report pharmacy profitability to senior management and make recommendations for improving processes that impact pricing and quotes.
- Develop modeling and analytical tools that support the rating tool used by underwriters to underwrite pharmacy.
- Responsible for BOB and client specific rebate projection process.
- Project rebate trends for pricing and recommend guidance based on sound assumptions and factors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) required, in Finance or Business Management preferred.
- 4+ years experience in the health care industry required; significant pharmacy pricing experience with PBM or health plan is preferred.
- Previous health care pricing/underwriting experience preferred.
- Strong Excel and/or database experience required.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve desired outcomes.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience.
