Job Description
 

Full-Time, 80 hours per pay period. Various shifts between 6:30am-7:00pm.

This employee, as part of a team, performs invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures and electrophysiology procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. This employee will administer medications and provide routine and emergency care for the patient during the procedure as needed. The employee will be working with all ages from newborn to geriatric patients. May be cross-trained to scrub role and recording role.

Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. (Refer to Self Assessment Checklist for specific age groups.) A thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.

The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.

When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills

Graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred. ACLS certified. Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.
