Description

Responsible for advertising and marketing plan development, advertising campaigns, media relations, collateral and communications, and market research/analysis.  In addition, this position is responsible for public and community relations activities, cultivating and maintaining strategic relationships within the community.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Conducts market research, including market share, image, focus groups.
    • Develops marketing and communications strategic and tactical plan to complement and advance strategic business objectives of the facility
    • Develops budget in accordance with plan and hospital allocation
    • Responsible for maintaining and achieving budget goals while executing plan and strategies approved for plan year
    • Seeks approval for all marketing expenses above threshold amount
    • Develops and coordinates all collaterals from concept to execution and distribution (e.g. print advertisements, direct mail, product line brochures, facility newsletters)
    • Works with agencies (when approved) on creative development and execution; manages ad placement
    • Fosters positive relationships with local broadcast and print media, maintaining appropriate records for all media contacts
    • Serves as a facility media spokesperson; determines appropriateness of media requests for information and formulates the content, timing and manner of media releases in conformance with policies and codes of ethics;  works with CEO and corporate communications, as required, on routine and crisis communications
    • Develops, coordinates and maintains community relations activities consistent with hospital business plan
    • Develop and maintain project and community calendars
    • Manages the development of screenings, seminars, community health fairs and speakers bureaus  to promote targeted clinical services
    • Represents hospital in community organizations and events, including chambers, planning board meetings, non-profit boards.
 

Qualifications

Requirements
Education
A Bachelors degree is required in marketing, journalism or related field
 
Professional
Three to five years of experience in marketing, public relations and/or communications in a hospital or health care setting required.   Track record of: knowing how to plan and execute CTA campaigns, media buys and print collateral; understanding media relations and knowing how to write and issue press releases and stories; and building positive and productive relationships with community organizations and businesses.
