Description

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/chief Human Resources Office, organizes, plans, develops, implements and maintains the educational programs, clinical projects, and staff development activities for the hospital.  Serves as a resource person and liaison for hospital employees and the community.  Also coordinates New Employee Orientation.  Manages Education Department employees.
Qualifications

1.  Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina, BSN required

2.  Knowledge of general nursing theories and practice

3.  Successful completion of hospital Orientation program

4.  Maintains competency and/or certification specific to departmental requirements

5.  Must have current BLS certification.  Current BLS instructor training preferred.  ACLS and PALS training preferred

6.  Nursing education and/or staff development experience required.  Five years of clinical nursing experience preferred

7.  Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s) encouraged
