Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher will support the Director with the ongoing development of Pathways Academy. They will teach and develop school curriculum, lead classroom and address daily issues. In addition they will implement daily schedules and ensure emergency coverage. The Special Education teacher will provide direct communication among Pathways Academy, our parents and the sending school district. They will demonstrate a willingness to remain flexible with a commitment to professional growth. Special Education Teachers are responsible for ensuring staff and student safety as well as providing crisis prevention and intervention as needed. They will supervise School Counselors and Interns.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Successful candidate must be possess basic computer skills in order to use a variety of electronic systems to access and/or maintain personal employment-related data, satisfy required annual trainings, and use job-specific applications
Qualifications
Massachusetts certification in Special Education (either Bachelors or Masters level).
Conditions of Employment
Employment at McLean Hospital is contingent upon a successful CORI (Criminal Background Check) and clearance from the Occupational Health Department.
