Job Description
 

This position is PRN (unscheduled part-time). Ability to cover mutiple areas including Inpatient Rehab, Actue, Peds, and Outpatient). New grads welcome to apply.

The Inpatient Rehab staff occupational therapist is responsible for utilizing their education and training to provide individualized occupational therapy treatment for his/her patient. The occupational therapist has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age - related treatments and evaluations relating to the needs of his/her patient. The occupational therapist on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit may treat individuals from 13 years and older with varying diagnosis that meet the criteria for admission to the Rehabilitation Unit.

The occupational therapist functions within the scope and standards of occupational therapy practice as outlined in the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Administrative rules. Sanford recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Occupational Therapy as published by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

The occupational therapist may be asked to supervise occupational therapist assistants, aides, and students as they provide care, treatment, or other services.

The occupational therapist will be interacting with individuals outside of the department including but not limited to: physicians, case managers, third party payers, public organizations, JCAHO, CARF, etc.

Required Skills

Must be a graduate of an accredited course in Occupational Therapy. Conforms to licensing standards of the state of South Dakota.
