Job Description
 

Part time, 24 hours per pay period. This position is in Vermilion and serves Beresford to North Sioux City

Flexible Days M-F 8:00-5pm and on call rotation 1 night per week and every 5th weekend

The Registered Nurse in the Primary RN role integrates health care for clients from pre-admission to post-discharge. This is accomplished through the coordination and sequencing of the client's care. Integration enhances patient flow and interdisciplinary communication promotes early intervention. The nurse seeks to evaluate outcomes based on an integration among established clinical, financial and utilization data. The nurse functions in structured and unstructured health care settings described as a geographic and/or situational environment that may not have established policies and procedures. The nurse utilizes independent nursing judgment when integrating health care. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes age-specific structured care methodologies, such as protocols/integrated clinical pathways/guidelines/standards of care relating to the overall health care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.

The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.

When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.

Required Skills

Education/Experience:  

1. Current South Dakota RN license is required or multi-state licensure privileges. Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.'

Required Credentials (Licensure, Certification, or Registration):

Current South Dakota/Iowa and Minnesota Boards of Nursing licenses dependent upon states served per each site or multi-state licensure privileges.
