Job Details:
All employees are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Palmetto Health’s values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork. In addition, this job also will be responsible for overall improvement of quality and accuracy of documentation. These functions will ensure appropriate documentation of resources used, compliant code assignment, and optimal reimbursement. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Mgt or related field preferred Experience: At least 3-5 years coding experience in an acute care setting. Number and Type of Employees Supervised: 4 (dotted line reports shared with Case Mgt). Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: CCS, RHIA, or RHIT. Special Training: Extensive knowledge of ICD-9CM and the DRG perspective payment system.
