Description

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, supervises and facilitates direct and/or indirect, safe and effective professional nursing care in ICU/PCU.  Oversees nursing care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated.  Encourages professional education and acts as a teacher and a resource for clinical practice. Ensures productivity and profitability of all assigned departments.  Participates in long range planning, resources allocation, marketing of services, physician relations and attends defined meetings as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer.  Identifies, resolves, and provides follow-up on problems involving patients and/or unit operations. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals.  Supports and enhances quality nursing care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.  Must be able to assume role of Administrative Supervisor.  

Qualifications

1.        Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
2.        Knowledge of general nursing theories and practice
3.        Successful completion of nursing service orientation program
4.        Attends IV Therapy training and/or demonstrates competency in intravenous therapy within orientation period.
5.        Attends Skills Fair and completes yearly competency checklists
6.        Must have current BCLS certification
7.        Five years of previous hospital experience required, including experience as a nurse supervisor and/or nursing leadership position in
8.        Competently performs specific duties as assigned 
9.        Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
 
At least 5 Yrs ICU experience.
