Dispatcher/Security

The security dispatcher is responsible for maintaining the function of the command center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to assure a continuous flow of information throughout the medical center.  The dispatcher is the central unit that binds the Security department together.  The Dispatcher will communicate by telephone and radio, and perform basic clerical duties as requested by the Director and/or Supervising Officer.  Must have knowledge of the WPS system, MCM/Checkpoint system, and the PictureLink system.  Some duties include monitoring of surveillance cameras, calls to outside safety agencies for emergencies, monitoring of all alarms, key control, guest relations, and patient/physician/employee complaints.  Must have a valid California Driver's License, a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and excellent customer service skills.  Computer literacy is a must.  Dispatching and 911 experience is preferred.  1 to 2 years of experience as a Dispatcher in any field required.
