The Banner Good Sam Rehabilitation Institute is nationally recognized as one of the Southwest's foremost providers of comprehensive rehabilitation care for strokes, spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. We offer acute Rehab services and specialty programs, providing a challenging opportunity for staff to motivate patients to help themselves reach their maximum potential.As a Rehab referral site, we receive patients from all over the state in need of acute inpatient rehabilitation. Our patients exhibit a variety of neurological and/or musculoskeletal disorders such as spinal cord injury, CVA, brain injury, amputation, multiple trauma, burns, oncology, and other neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barre syndrome and orthopedics.In addition to the neurologically impaired, we treat patients who have been de-conditioned due to long standing illness and may benefit from acute rehabilitation. Patients offer a variety of challenges for nurses, including tracheostomy care, post-operative surgery care, feeding tubes, central lines, and diabetic care. Nursing functions as the facilitator for the holistic approach utilized by the multi-disciplinary health team in its effort to restore the patient to his/her maximum level of function. Patient and family education provides opportunity for our professionals to develop and utilize a multitude of teaching skills. We also offer ongoing educational opportunities, which include a rehab nursing course. Rehab and/or strong med-surg RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities:
NURSING CONCEPT:The patients offer a variety of challenges for both the experienced nurse and the new graduate, i.e., tracheostomy care, pre-and post-operative surgery, feeding tubes, central lines, and diabetic care. Patient/Family education needs provides an opportunity for the professional to develop and utilize a multitude of teaching skills. There is an RN designee on each shift. The RN team leader plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates care from admission through discharge in collaboration with the case manager and the interdisciplinary team for all patients on the team.

Qualifications:
Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license or temporary Arizona RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
