Supports members of medical staff including medical director and chair person, acts as liaison
Between physicians and unit requirements, arranges monthly statistical reports, promotes guest relations,
Responsible for patient intakes from the community, the emergency department or the medical floors.
Insurance verification and proper patient placement with the in-patient units, or referral to community
Services as needed. Keeps admission call log, protects and maintains patient confidentiality.
May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty, or in another patient care unit as assigned by nurse manager or director of behavioral services.
Experience with medical conditions and able to assess medical needs. Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Registered nurse or foreign trained medical physician. Completion of an approved program for admission Case
Manager, or equivalent experience. Minimum one year in a psychiatric hospital setting. Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language. Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition. Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
