Job Description

Responsible for delivery of perioperative patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  Responsible for directing and guiding patient care activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.  Responsible for acting as a preceptor for new orientees on the nursing unit.  Provides direct patient care in the scrub/circulating role.  Serves as a patient advocate and follows the AORN recommended practices for professional operating room nurse.

Qualifications

Graduate from School of Nursing. Current Florida Nursing License. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification. Knowledge of principles of perioperative nursing.  Must possess one of the following:
a)      One year of OR and/or PACU experience or internship validated by certificate of one year critical care experience.
b)      Dysrhythmia interpretation
