Director of Nursing Educational Development

Hosptial in Maryland is seeking a Director of Nursing Educational Development. This person will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, leading and evaluating central nursing programs that include but are not limited to professional development, quality, nurse internship and pursuit of magnet recognition as a means to develop a nursing center of excellence. The Director will work collaboratively with the other nursing directors in the specific units to establish short- and long-term goals and develop implementation plans for these nursing programs and align programs with the model of nursing care delivery.

Reports to the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services.

Provides overall direction to the following areas:
Clinical Nurse specialists, Clinical educators, Magnet coordination, Nursing Quality Improvement and special projects.

Qualifications:
Baccalaureate in Nursing required.
Master’s Degree in Nursing- or Health-related field required.
Doctorate in Nursing or related field required.
CPR certified.

Must have experience in teaching at the university level and have published.
Effective communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
Ability to handle difficult interpersonal situations and pace of caseload demands.
Must possess in-depth knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration to plan and evaluate nursing standards and practice.
