Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:Demonstrates unit specific skillsResponsible for working in Special Procedures Department, which includes:- endoscopy- IV Team- IV infusions- minor surgical- pain treatment centerAssessment & Intervention- Incorporates initial and ongoing assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care- Integrates safety and protection for patients/residents and staff when implementing policies and procedures and using equipment.Communication, Relationships, and FMH/DC Standards- Communicates with patients/residents and families, team members, and management in an accurate, timely manner- Reports pertinent, concise information, accomplishes complete, timely charting and effectively uses the electronic medical record system- Protects confidentiality of patients/residents and colleagues- Actively seeks out and accepts feedback- Develops and maintains human care relationships: Integrates the influence of the individual's human experience of health, illness and healing into the nursing care plan- Advocates for needs of clients, provides care in an ethical and legal manner, and refers concerns/issues to appropriate resources- Meets FMH/DC standards related to telephone etiquette, customer service, dress code, attendance, punctuality, comportment, inter/intra departmental commitment to co-workers, confidentiality, corporate compliance and patient/resident/provider rights- Completes time sheets in an accurate, timely mannerCritical Thinking- Incorporates critical thinking skills by integrating data from multiple sources for planning of patient/resident care- Considers alternatives- Organizes and prioritizes a multitask workload to effectively deliver care for multiple patients/residents- Recognizes limitations and capabilities and actively seeks assistanceManages self and resources/leadership skills- Manages self and resources- Establishes learning needs and seeks opportunities to advance skills- Utilizes equipment and supplies effectively and maintains clean and orderly environment of care- Manages unit processes and flow, positively promotes change, and productively manages downtime per unit standards- Identifies scope of practice for self and others and works within defined limits of scope- Interacts with others in a professional manner, manages conflict, and practices commitment to co-workers- Delegates and assigns care- Coordinates patient/resident care within a multi-disciplinary team approach- Directs concerns of clinical practice and/or operations through appropriate channels- Actively participates in the education and orientation of hospital personnel- Incorporates teaching in the delivery of care with a focus on health promotion- Teaches patient(s)/resident(s) self care skills in relation to illness and disease- Implements teaching techniques to address identified learning barriers- Uses hospital educational materials and colleagues as a learning resource- Counsels about health behaviors- Supports the Preceptor ProgramKnowledge integration skills- Integrates age specific care and knowledge of expected norms (i.e. - VS, lab values, assessment, etc) in planning patient/resident care- Integrates new data into plan of care- Integrates technical, psychological, social, intellectual, and physical skills in the delivery of care

Qualifications:
- Alaska RN License required- Requires a RN with a strong critical care background- ACLS- PALS * WITH A TWO YEAR AGREEMENT PRFIVE5YAHOOSMART
