The Solutions Design and Technology Planning/Principal Consultant reports to the NW Business Information Officer (BIO) org. Accountable for business technology planning and the resulting solutions design. Seeking a senior level professional who has extensive experience in partnership with the business community.  The NW region has developed a 5 year strategic plan for Care Delivery and Health plan Operations. This involves a major redesign of the care delivery services and processes.  IT has to develop a technology plan that supports this regional and national strategy.  We need an individual who can drive the IT plans and solutions for CD Ops for the next five years.  IT plan/solutions evolve continuously as the regional strategy is executed.Must be capable of creating a technology vision and exercising influence with business/IT partners to execute. Ensure that our technology solutions position Kaiser at/above market parity. 

Solutions to business initiatives should conform to the national architecture strategy in line with the overall KP strategic architecture. Works closely with the Business Partners, BIO org, and EPA.

 

Essential Functions:

Strong, industry-experienced leadership necessary to create KPIT solution designs and technology plans. Capable of creating a technology vision and influencing business and IT partners to execute the vision. Ensure that our technology solutions position Kaiser at or above market parity.  Perform the following roles:
Partners with the BIO and collaborates with executive leadership in developing and defining the technology strategy in support of the overarching regional strategy
Develop/implement effective capacity planning and demand mgmt processes to include shared svcs and other IT depts
Develop/refine approach to technology planning which drives visibility and improved performance in Total Cost of Ownership:
- Identify/define solution design alternatives; Identify/recommend architecture integration options/impacts; Identify risks; Identify/share/re-use opportunities for solutions; Create high-level solution design and supporting documents; Provide input on supply/demand mgmt
Program/Regional Mgmt: Build credible/effective relationships within region/technology programs to maximize success of KP
Strategically aligns technology plans with the National strategies/market demands
Develops the IT Multi-Year technology solution design, which integrates all regional/National initiatives, and identifies interdependencies:
- Ensures regional reps are actively involved in all planning efforts to align with regional objectives; Develops strong planning relationships with business/IT partners and brings regional operating initiatives into the strategic planning process; Effectively engage others to develop the information and systems strategies needed to support the NW systems strategy; Ensures strategic NW BIO portfolio plan integrates across the enterprise portfolio and BIO orgs


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

BS or BA degree in information systems, computer science or related technical field, or 4 years of related work experience
Minimum of 10 or more years of related IT experience
Industry experience that includes process solution design and technology program management
Ability to identify and articulate problems, solutions, opportunities and risks
Ability to influence decision-making and deliver on expected results
Demonstrated track record of significant accomplishment in a senior leadership role
Experience partnering with executive levels

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Health care experience preferred
Senior leadership experience in partnering with executive levels
Strategic and technology planning experience
Multi-disciplinary leadership capability
Broad knowledge of design techniques and technologies
Track record of collaboration with senior leadership and influence executive decisions
Industry experience that includes architectural design and infrastructure evaluation
