Pharmacy Technician I

About the Opportunity 

The Pharmacy Technician works in many areas of the pharmacy to supplement technician staffing in the department.  As such he/she must competently perform the functions of technicians working in both the retail and home infusion areas of the department.  Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.  Must have the ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day, type at least 30 WPM, communicate effectively with patients and health care workers, and lift up to 25 lbs.  At least 6 months of experience as a home infusion or hospital pharmacy technician or related experience is required.  At least 6 months experience compounding infusion products is required.  Must be able to demonstrate sterile techniques and verbalize ASHP sterile compounding guidelines.  At least 6 months experience in a retail pharmacy or hospital outpatient pharmacy that utilizes a computer system for processing prescriptions is required.  Must have passed the designated competency examination.
