    About the Opportunity 

    The Pharmacy Technician fills prescriptions accurately and with an appropriate amount of speed.  He/she compounds sterile preparations according to established procedures.  He/she organizes the work to allow for efficient checking by a pharmacist.  He/she competently uses and maintains all dispensing/compounding equipment (including computers) according to established procedures.  Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.  Must have passed the designated competency examination.  Must have the ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day, type at least 30 words per minute, communicate effectively with patients and health care workers, and lift up to 25 lbs.  Must have at least 6 months of experience as a home infusion or hospital pharmacy technician or related experience, at least 6 months of experience in a retail pharmacy or hospital outpatient pharmacy that utilizes a computer system for processing prescriptions, and at least 6 months of experience compounding infusion products.  Must be able to demonstrate sterile technique and verbalize ASHP sterile compounding guidelines.
