BASIC FUNCTION: Position responsible for the coordination, set up, presentation and service of foods and beverages at designated times, meeting customer satisfaction goals and expectations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED. Must be able to follow and relay oral and detailed written instructions.
2. Current Food Handler Course from County/City Health and Human Services or demonstrated competency of the facility's food handling course.
3. One year customer service experience in a healthcare, school, or commercial food service operation.
4. Must be able to perform duties throughout the shift that require standing, walking, pushing up to 400 pound carts, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pound containers and withstanding temperatures between 0 degree F and 40 degrees F for periods of 10-30 minute intervals.
5. Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating both Behaviors and Operating Principles in all internal and external customer interactions. Performs duties with accountability, competency, innovation, collaboration, compassion and respect to create the best possible outcomes with exceptional customer experiences.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Anticipate customer needs, plan, organize, coordinate and prepare area to meet meal schedule. Assure all food and beverage items are presented in an attractive, appetizing manner according to established presentation standards.
2. Communicate and display appropriate customer service interaction as it relates to area and/or for patients' food preferences and nutritional needs.
3. Maintain current related records in area.
4. Maintain the safety and proper sanitation of assigned work area according to HACCP standards.
5. Adheres to all MH policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
6. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
