Title:Chief Cilinical Dietitian
 
Job Summary:
The Chief Clinical Dietitian leads the processes in place to ensure that the patients' nutritional needs are met.  Job tasks and responsibilities include:



Directs and supervises personnel in the process of planning, preparing, and serving food to patients.

Maintains records of patient reaction to prescribed diets.

Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

Orients and mentors new staff members.

Conducts inservice training programs to all Food and Nutritional Service personnel, Medical Staff, Nursing Personnel, and other departments as needed.

Makes visits in patient's room to determine the acceptability of food served and notes leftover food on plates.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Will be responsible for all aspects of clinical nutrition.

Consistently performs initial charting in the medical record within 24 hours of a physician order; screens patients for possible nutritional problems and accuracy of diet order.

Immediately follows up on patients who have maintained NPO status for more than five (5) days and are not receiving enteral or parenteral nutritional support; makes appropriate recommendations to physician.

Performs comprehensive nutritional assessment upon initiation of central line hyperalimentation within 24 hours of physician order, unless ordered on the weekend. Note: The Chief Clinical Dietitian or designee should be on call for STAT consultations.

Consistently demonstrates the ability to keep up with patient workload and uses support staff in an efficient and cost conscious manner.

Is responsible for the completion of all assigned work procedures during the shift without interference in the quality of work performed.

Responds to changes in the workload schedule as necessary; continually utilizes time in a productive manner; works on special projects, updates patient education material, etc.

Demonstrates consistent level of performance; avoids periods of extremely high and low activity; maintains progress on special projects; informs Director of progress status and strives to meet deadlines.
 $2,500 Sign-on Bonus + Benefits
 
Qualifications:
- Must be FL Licensed and Registered Dietitian
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting
