Reporting to the Director of Critical Care the Charge Nurse is a management position responsible for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient care. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of systems for evaluation of clinical competency of the nursing staff, helping to develop and update standards and policies, consultation of the nursing staff for complex nursing issues. It includes providing pertinent continuing education for existing staff, mentoring of new staff, and Performance Improvement activities.
Mandatory:
1. Current California Registered Nurse license.
2. Current AHA BLS, ACLS Certification.
3. Meets requirements in Level II Critical Care RN Clinical Ladder.
Preferred:
1. Bachelors Degree
2. Membership of a Professional Organization
3. Member of a Hospital Committee.
4. CCRN
5. Meets requirements' in Level III Critical Care RN Clinical Ladder.
