The Front Office Service Representative II greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, obtains demographic, financial and medical information for registration and identification, coordinates and assists in the completion of all activities relating to patient's finances to facilitate the collection and distribution of information and to expedite a smooth and timely billing and collection process while adhering to department policies and procedures.
Accurately completes the Clinic Care Log and breaks down Care Charts as appropriate.
Monitors and expedites the necessary authorizations and approvals for hospital outpatient service or elective surgeries per the designated insurance carrier.
Uses organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the Clinic.
Acts as a resource and liaison for employees within the department, as well as other inter-related hospital staff and all "guests" that need assistance or information.
Participates actively in the patient care planning process.
High School diploma preferred
College work course work in accounting or business related fields preferred
3-5 years recent experience in a business office environment preferred
Knowledge in Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party billing and collection procedures preferred
Experience or knowledge in admissions, registrations and insurance verifications is preferred
Fluent in English/Spanish (written and verbal)
