Admit Rep II: - SCHEDULED AS NEEDED
The Patient Representative greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; obtains demographic, financial and medical information for registration and identification, coordinates and assists in the completion of all activities relating to patient's finances, to facilitate the collection and distribution of information and to expedite a smooth and timely billing and collection process while adhering to department policies and procedures. Monitors and expedites the necessary authorizations and approvals for hospital outpatient service or elective surgeries per the designated insurance carriers. Acts as a resource and liaison for employees within the department, as well as other inter-related hospital staff and all "guests" that need assistance or information. Participates actively in the patient care planning process.
High School diploma or equivalent; College work course work in accounting or business related fields;
3 - 5 years recent experience in acute care hospital registration or business office environment;
Knowledge in Medicare, Medi-cal and third party billing and collection procedures; Experience or knowledge in admissions, registrations and insurance verifications is essential; Type 35 wpm; Preferred: Ability to speak
