Job Description
 

The Hospice Assistive Living Technician is the Hospice client's caregiver at either cottage during his/her scheduled work period. To fulfill this caregiver role, the Hospice Assistive Living Technician performs tasks delegated by his/her immediate supervisor, the Hospice Case Manager, the client and family. These tasks may include, but are not limited to meeting the client's activities of daily living needs, meal preparation needs, emotional and spiritual support needs, medication compliance needs, and laundry. The Hospice Assistive Living Technician will maintain the functioning of the Hospice Cottage during his/her scheduled work period. Any concerns will be reported to the HALT supervisor, the Hospice Clinical Nurse Specialist, the on-call RN as appropriate, and/or the Administrative Director of Home Care Services. The HALT will be responsible for maintenance of the internal Hospice Cottage environment during his/her scheduled shift. The Hospice Assistive Living Technician utilizes cost effective measures to deliver quality care. The HALT complies with Hospice philosophy and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills

Successful completion of CNA program required. Must be a trained Med Aide
