Director, Supply Chain

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for all aspects of material, goods and services, demand planning systems, logistics, warehousing, distribution, inventory management and provision of +99% OTIF (on time in full) service and delivery for a complex multi-site portfolio.
Essential Functions:
- Create and implement an integrated supply chain strategy from demand to point of use which meets AQSCIR customer and site business requirements.
- Manage a direct staff of approximately 200 supply chain professionals. Become an influential member of National Management Leadership Team and Procurement and Supply leadership teams.
- Lead and manage all warehousing and distribution activities, including:
- Central warehousing and distribution services
- Fleet and shuttle services
- Courier services
- Print services
- Local stores operations
- Document storage, retrieval and retention.
- Deliver 99% OTIF service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver 4-5% savings per annum; this equates to $25-30 million per annum in cost down and cost out efficiency improvements.
- Manage all inventory to achieve 6-10 inventory turns per annum with less than 10% slow moving or obsolescent stock. Network inventory is estimated at $200-300 million per annum.
- Develop annual budget ($13-15 million) and produce monthly operational demand forecasts to feed into procurement.
- Ensure zero stock outs on safety critical items.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations research, materials management, economics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a combination of purchasing, materials management, warehouse operations, goods and services contracting, construction contracting, finance or other related areas.
- Minimum 7 years of of management experience
- Successfully managed a large materials management function servicing a heavily matrixed organization
- Successfully led a change management project in a decentralized organization
- Experience building and developing large teams
Expert knowledge of:
- Supply chain management best practices
- Procurement category strategies
- Inventory management and purchasing systems.
Proven ability to:
- build and maintain strategic alliances and other high-level executive relationships
- lead a function that is geographically dispersed
- determine key issues in a project or operational situation, involve the appropriate individuals and develop appropriate plans of action from multi-disciplinary perspectives

- Strong communication, presentation, project management and negotiation skills
- Must be able to work in a unionized "Labor/Management Partnership" environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred
- Health care or retail experience preferred
- Experience working in a project-based and unionized environment is preferred
- Professional certification such as a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) preferred
