Lung Transplant Coordinator

Lung Tranplant Coordintor needed for a hospital that offers a broad array of inpatient and ambulatory care services. Located within a region of North Carolina that offers an excellent quality of life, including close proximity to beaches and mountains.
Transplant Nurse Coordinator plays an integral role in achieving safe, high quality patient outcomes through teaching, research, and leadership.

The role may include
•Facilitating referrals for evaluation, assuring that transplant patient’s needs are met during the inpatient stay, and for the long term follow-up after discharge from the transplant admission.
•Responsible for educating patients, family and other providers about the intricacies of organ transplantation.
•The ability to communicate to a diverse audience, synthesize and apply advanced clinical knowledge, be flexible, and collaborate in an organized manner is essential to the role.

Education:
BSN required; Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:
5 years nursing experience with at least two years in transplant, critical care, disease specific OR minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience in transplant, critical care, disease specific. Case management or clinical research experiences also a positive.
