Description

The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary for catheterization procedures at a technical and professional level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail.  Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require frequent independent judgment.  Assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required.  Maintains a complete knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomic anomalies, and specific treatment options. Has a thorough knowledge of invasive diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and good judgment skills. Anticipates patient status changes related to procedural events and takes immediate, appropriate action in response.  

Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program or Cardiovascular Technologist program.  One years of CV Invasive Training experience required. Current ACLS or PALS and BLS certification. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Electrophysiology experience preferred. Experience with 3D Mapping (Carto, Ensite systems) preferred.  Experience with atrial fibrillation ablation is preferred.
