Coding Supervisor

Responsible for managing functions related to the processing of discharged records, abstracting, data entry and coding of medical records. Supervisor will ensure that these functions are consistent, accurate, timely and complete within timeframes specified in the standard operating procedure.

Candidate will report to the Dir of Medical Affairs;

 








Job Functions:
Supervise members of the Coding/ HIMS department.
Ensure coding is performed accurately and timely.
Serve as a resource on all coding issues.
Provide coder education as outlined by HCA policies and maintain appropriate records to meet corporate compliance requirements.
Assist with coding as needed to ensure timely completion of coding of all records.
Perform quality coding reviews as outlined by HCA.
Monitor and analyze DRG ratios.
Assist with PRO PEEP, quality projects and case mix analysis.
Update the unbilled log daily and assign responsibility as appropriate.Review, revise and/or develop policies and procedures relating to coding.
  

Qualifications 
Qualifications:
CCS is required, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience in an inpatient acute care setting is required and 5 years of coding
