JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Department Supervisor, responsible for the collection of past due patient accounts; tactfully interacts with physicians, patients, and their families, other CCF related departments and outside servicing organizations to influence and persuade the disposition of past due patient accounts. Position focuses on new and former patients. Performs financial and insurance pre-screening and makes appropriate recommendations for all new prospective clinic or hospital patients. Resolve financial problems of former Cleveland Clinic Foundation patients seeking additional medical service. Performs the duties of Patient Accounts, ACollector@ as required. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Post high school course work in business, finance or accounting or equivalent work experience in a financial environment to acquire these skills. Strong written and oral communication skills necessary. Some CRT experience or formal training necessary. A minimum four years collection related experience with a bank, finance company or in a health care institution. Experience processing medical insurance claims helpful. Strong background in public contact mandatory. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
